Subject: NRS Field Studies Program: lecturer position available

Dear NRS community,

We are very excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for the lecturer position affiliated with the new NRS systemwide course, California Ecology and Conservation! The job posting is attached. This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone who holds a Ph.D. in biology or a related field and is passionate about teaching in the field. California Ecology and Conservation, part of the NRS Field Studies Program, is an immersive field course open to undergraduates from all nine general campuses. Students spend the entire seven-week course living and studying at numerous reserves of the UC Natural Reserve System, experiencing a cross-section of California ecosystems while learning valuable field research skills.  The course will be offered each fall, spring, and summer beginning in Fall 2015. The lecturer will be based at UC Santa Cruz and will co-teach the Fall 2015 course with Prof. Don Croll and Dr. Gage Dayton, and will then take over the reins for future course offerings (alongside an additional lecturer). Beyond the posted starting salary, an additional ~$10k will be provided for the summer course.

Please spread the word at your campuses and beyond-- a fabulous instructor is key to the success of this new, exciting program!

Thanks,

Erin
