Hello,
We are recruiting a crew leader for an early detection/rapid response to invasive plants crew at Yosemite National Park. This position will be hired through the Great Basin Institute (equivalent to a GS 07 federal position, $20/hr). This crew will focus on surveying for and treating invasive plants in burned areas across large swaths of land in Yosemite.

Strong botanical skills are a must for early detection. This position will lead a crew that will split their time between surveys, treatments (manual and chemical), and some work on additional vegetation and ecological restoration projects.

Strong field skills and a commitment to safety is also required. Much of the work is in remote areas on and off trail and exposed to environmental hazards.

This will be a 38-week initial appointment, starting 6 April (after successful completion of DOI Background Investigation) to 18 December 2020, followed by 3 months off (January-March 2021), then re-starting on 6 April to 30 July 2021; possibility of extension through December 2021 pending performance review and available funding.
