About the Vegetation Positions
The Natural Resources and Science program is now recruiting for Seasonal Vegetation Technicians for the 2020 Season. We are looking for people who would enjoy working in our vegetation program from February through October. This recruitment
will be used to fill the following roles, one or more of which is currently available:
Vegetation Mapping Technician: The primary focus of this role will be surveying for early detection of invasive plant species and conducting rapid response weed management activities. The Mapping Technician may also assist in the
development of weed prevention education materials, promote weed prevention within our organization, and work with the public by providing educational information about invasive plants. Additional tasks may include surveying and collecting data for rare plant
populations, priority weed infestations, vegetation communities, and specific project areas or management areas.
Vegetation Field Crew Technician: The Field Crew Technician will provide oversight for a crew of up to five seasonal weed management assistants. The primary focus of the crew will be to locate invasive plant areas, conduct weed management
activities, and document work completed. The Field Crew Technician will assist the Vegetation Specialist with project planning and scoping, coordinating crew needs and logistics, and promoting safe and effective field work practices. This role may assist with
on-the-job trainings covering relevant skills, tools, gear, or equipment.

resources within the county - beautiful serpentine grasslands with plants found nowhere else on Earth, saltwater marshes, forests harboring tall redwoods and elusive owls, and AMAZING vistas of the Marin landscape with iconic San Francisco Bay and Mount Tamalpais!
The Natural Resource & Science Division is an interdisciplinary team that plans and implements monitoring and management activities for the stewardship of vegetation, wildlife, habitats, ecosystems, natural features, trails, and cultural
resources.
