Many of your programs participated in a volunteer driver program survey that was completed in 2019. This survey was completed by those programs that provide volunteer driver services primarily for driving people to appointments and excluded those that only deliver meals.

It is important to educate decision makers about the importance of these programs and some challenges that they face using these documents and your own data. We continue to advocate for increases to the Federal charitable driving reimbursement rate and work with statewide partners to address personal vehicle insurance issues some volunteers encounter.

Your help is needed! If you have had issue with volunteers quitting or not volunteering due to insurance issues, please contact me as soon as possible. We need these stories as we continue to work towards statewide solutions.
