Hello,

Would you like to offer educational conferences for direct care staff who work with older adults?

The UW-Madison School of Nursing's Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) has been organizing one-day conferences for CNAs, PCWs and other direct care staff since 2014. To reach more direct care staff across Wisconsin, we are developing a "CARE U" train-the-trainer approach.

CARE U conferences include information on vision changes with age, dementia care, maintaining mobility, person-centered care, nutrition and swallowing, and understanding pain. Our CARE U trainer application is now open; the deadline to apply is February 1.

We're looking for trainers across the state who are passionate about older adult health, understand the hard work that direct care staff do, and have some experience with teaching or professional development. These CARE U trainers will then bring the information and materials we provide at no cost back to their communities, to educate direct care staff.

I'll attach a flyer about the program. More information is available on our website, at:

Please help us spread the word. I'm happy to answer any questions that our website doesn't address.

Thanks and happy holidays,
