On 2026 October 7, Denis Buczynski submitted an image and astrometry of
PCCP object CEV8YD2. A number of observers had suggested that this was a
recovery of comet 266P/Christensen. The object is around 9 arcmin east
of the current ephemeris position of 266P.

I also obtained astrometry this morning (Oct 8.14) and can confirm the
linkage. Using Findorb with astrometry of 266P from 2012 onwards and the
latest astrometry from the PCCP I get an orbit with mean residual 1.1"
over an arc from 2012 Aug 15 to 2026 Oct 8.
