Comet 220P is now in outburst and can be observed in the morning sky in
the south at an altitude of around 20-30 degrees above the horizon in
the Constellation of Cetus. It shows a large diffuse coma and is easily
imaged with small apertures at around magnitude 7-8. Please report any
images and visual observations to the BAA Comet Section.

COMET 220P/McNAUGHT
      This comet has gone into another major outburst, following that
reported on CBET 5698.  J. A. Henríquez Santana, reports that CCD
observations obtained with a 0.20-m reflector located at Santa Cruz de
Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, on Aug. 5.12 UT yields total mag 9.4
and coma diameter 0'.2.  Further total-magnitude and coma-diameter
