Hi all,
Earlier today Jean-Francois Soulier reported on comets-ml that fragment
A had brightened significantly in images that he obtained on Jan 4.79.
This has been confirmed by Alfons Diepvens (Jan 4.76) and Nick Quinn
(Jan 4.76). Nick's image is in our archive here:
https://britastro.org/cometobs/2025k1/2025k1_20260104_181508_nquinn.html
The previous image in our archive is my one from Jan 3.80 where A is
very faint and diffuse. I was getting around mag 18.7 for this component
in a 9 arcsec radius aperture:

My image from tonight (Jan 5.79) has component A at magnitude 17.7 in
the same aperture:

This comet is getting fainter as it moves away from the Sun and the
Earth but it is still doing interesting things so please keep it under
observation if you can.
Daily images of this comet are in the BAA archive here:

Nick.
