C/2023 A3 Tsuchishan-ATLAS Nick James 30 Mar 2025 18:52 UTC
This comet was a spectacular object last October but it is now moving
away from the Sun and the Earth and it is fading quickly. It is now
visible as a 15th magnitude object in the morning sky moving slowly
through the dense star fields of Delphinus:

I'd like to keep our 9 arcsec aperture lightcurve of the comet going for
as long as possible. The latest version is attached. It shows how smooth
the pre-perihelion fade was but there has been quite a lot of scatter in
the post-perihelion estimates. This is something that I hope to write up
for the Journal at some point.

If you would like to contribute to this lightcurve please follow the
instructions here:

This is for 12P, but the approach is the same for C/2023 A3.

Our 12P photometry archive has been used as the basis of a professional
paper submitted to The Astronomical Journal. It is currently being refereed.

Nick.
