If the student has an iPad that they can access, GarageBand has a lot of capabilities. It may be preferable for the student to record a music sequence in advance so they can play along with their classmates in real time.
You can use a keyboard, and assign flute tones to the keys. It’s also possible to turn on a setting so the keyboard keys are labeled with the names of the notes, to make it easier for the student enter the sequence. There are other ways to enter music, that do not require the ability to play it in real time.
If you’re not already comfortable using electronic music software, it can be a bit overwhelming. But there are many tutorials, and almost all the sounds you can use with it are free.
