Also -  when you're writing a fictional character,  how that character
views and exercises violence is not only about the goal of the violence,
but it also tells us about the character doing the violence.

So Space Vikings and Imperial troopers will use violence differently as
a reflection of their view of themselves and their place in the world.

Piper is telling more about how the Violence doers see themselves than
about the goals of the violence.
